How to Transform

translocate

rotate

scale

Translocate

The process of translocating moves the selected object to the right and backwards by the distance specified.

To translocate an object:

  • select the object

  • from the Edit menu select Transform

  • click on the Translocate tab

  • enter the X and Y coordinates representing the amount of movement required

  • click OK to complete the translocation

Rotation

Rotation moves the selected object in an arc about the work axes.

To rotate an object

  • select the object

  • from the Edit menu select Transform

  • click on the Rotate tab

  • enter the angle of rotation required

  • click OK to complete the translocation

Scale

Scaling increases or decreases the size of the selected object. Scaling is performed in relation to the axes of the workplanes. A scaling factor of less than 1 decreases the size while a scaling factor greater than 1 increase the size.

To scale an object

  • select the object

  • from the Edit menu select Transform

  • click on the Scale tab

  • enter the Scale factor required (a number greater than zero)

  • click OK to complete the translocation

NOTE if dimensional constraints have been applied to the object, scaling will not override the constraints - the object will move but not resize.
