Draft faces

Drafting a face

Drafting is simply the process of sloping the sides of a model.

Drafting is used in the design of molds where the sides of the mold must be sloped to allow material to be withdrawn without catching.

To draft a face

  • select the face to be drafted using the Select Face tool

  • from the Features menu select Draft Faces or click the icon on the features toolbar

  • in the Draft Faces dialog box

    • set the angle of draft

    • choose whether to include tangent surfaces

  • view the results on the model

  • click OK to complete the draft

NOTE - the angle of draft can be set quickly by dragging the yellow handle
