Text and paragraph formatting

Text in the cell of a table can be formatted in the same manner as any other text. Click to review how to format text.

Paragraph formatting inside a table follows the same principles as elsewhere in a document. Click to review basic paragraphs formats or more advanced indented paragraphs.

 
     

Cell alignment

To align the contents of a cell:

  • place the cursor in the cell or select the range of cells
  • right mouse click inside cell
  • from the menu select Cell Alignment
  • Click on the alignment required

Text Direction

Where the contents of a column is generally quite narrow but the heading is quite wide, consider changing the alignment of the heading as shown to the right.

To change the direction of text:

  • either place the cursor in the required cell OR select the range of cells
  • either select from the Format menu OR
    • right mouse click then select
  • select the required direction from the dialog box

  • click OK to confirm your choice
