Curriculum at Dubbo College

Dubbo College Junior Campuses have a middle school focus. In 2010, both South and Delroy campuses will conduct an Academic Extension Class. Entry to the class is via application and independent testing.

Students from both Deroy and South camupses meet common "exit outcomes" before moving to the Senior Campus to commence Year 10.

Dubbo College Senior Campus provides a wide range of courses including both Board of Studies and Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses.

Senior Campus has strong ties with Western Institute of TAFE Dubbo Campus and has approximately 250 students undertaking 300 TAFE courses.

Students may undertake a school based apprenticeship through Central West Trade College and Dubbo College Senior Campus.

Acceleration

Dubbo College Senior Campus is structured to allow for accelerated progression of Year 10 students into a Board of Studies Preliminary course. Acceleration can provide a suitable framework to facilitate the education of gifted and talented learners.
Accelerating students will have completed the School Certificate in that course by the conclusion of Year 9.

Early Entry

Year 10 students may receive early entry into selected Preliminary HSC VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses.
Separate application to accelerate into a Year 11 (Preliminary HSC) course is required.
