MUSIC AT THE COLLEGE
Music is an important aspect of Dubbo College
and all three campuses offer a variety of music courses. Students
interested in public performances of music have some exciting
opportunities available to them.
.
"Dubbo College Band - It's Cool!"
Playing in either the Dubbo College Concert
Band or JamPacked Jazz Band is a great way to have fun, mix with
friends and play in interesting places. Like the times when the
Band plays for the Dubbo Jazz Festival at the RSL or outdoors
at Coolah Tops or indoors at the Mother's Day concert for Legacy.
Recently the Concert Band played in the newly refurbished concert
hall of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
The Concert Band and JamPacked are well known
around the district not only for their standards of excellence
but variety of repertoire and willingness to participate in a
range of community activites, such as the opening of Dubbo's newly
created Japanese Gardens or fund raising concerts for the Rural
Fire Brigade at the Race Course and Guide-Dog Associtation at
the Zoo.
The Dubbo College Concert Band and individual
campus junior bands are a fantastic way of developing and promoting
teamwork and social interaction skills. As a vehicle for training
musicianship, developing self-confidence and the honing of performance
psychology skills, students learn the rigours and discipline of
regular practice and concert appearances.
Playing music in front of an audience is a fantastic
experience - one that will take you on a journey for a lifetime.
Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity!
Learn a musical instrument today and have fun
sharing your music with others.
